Designer Bio

MISSION: Volumes of Space assumes the responsibility to create an original space that complements our client’s lifestyle in both form and function.

BIOGRAPHY: Joleen’s love of colour, architecture and design was encouraged early on in life and is the driving force behind Volumes of Space. Having studied art and design in both Italy, and Toronto, Joleen has the ability to bring a worldly view to each and every aspect of her design projects.

It was early on in her career in the kitchen and bath industry that allowed Joleen to establish an extensive knowledge of renovation construction, as well as acquire multiple certificates from the National Kitchen and Bath Association. In preparation for the implementation of Bill 124, Joleen completed the accreditation program with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (BCIN # 27755). This accreditation now allows her to design for the public under the guidance of the Ontario Building Code. As current design regulations, standards and trends continue to evolve, Joleen stays on the cutting edge by attending all of the industry trade shows, hottest galleries, and relevant seminars.

A desire to broaden her scope of services throughout the entire home interior pushed her to venture out from the kitchen and bath industry and into her own business. A business offering a full spectrum of design services, from colour consultations to full home renovations. Through her meticulous attention to detail, ability to successfully blend various materials, and creative use of colour, Joleen can assist her individual clients in creating their own personalized interiors. With the help of a highly skilled team of craftspeople and contractors, she has developed a reputation for going above and beyond her clients expectations.

“Design affects my entire life through and through, that’s why my job feels so important to me.  Knowing that what my client requires of me can ultimately change how they live, and in turn their life… that kind of change is important and I try to never take it lightly.”

Joleen currently lives in Guelph, Ontario with her husband and two sons.
